Let me introduce you to our friendly classroom elf, Snowflake! A few days ago, we walked in to find that he had left a note. The note read, "Good morning boys and girls! I have a fun activity for you to do and some yummy treats too." Snowflake left me with special instructions to show the children how to use a coordinate plane.
After some explanation, students were told to move across the x-axis, then y-axis to step on their special coordinate. If they did this correctly, they were rewarded with the sucker that Snowflake had left on each coordinate. Students then had to use this skill to create the gingerbread house pictured above.
p.s. To all my parent and teacher friends out there, I "adopted" my own classroom elf for 50% off the normal "adoption fee" at Target the day after Christmas! Yay!
